Eat and be satisfied

When – a couple of years ago – I started documenting the almost three-thousand-year-old three headed domination-based culture I chose to call “Juchreman” (home-grown neologism derived from the French words “Juif”= Jew, “Chrétien”= Christian and “Musulman”= Muslim), I was miles away from guessing just to what extent my little book would prove in touch with the times.

As a starter there is this Deuteronomy, 15:6 – “ For the Lord, your God, has blessed you, as He spoke to you, and you will lend to many nations[…] and you will rule over many nations[…]” – which explains so much of the so-called global « debt crisis » that’s getting worse and worse.

What comes next is much more unbearable to any civilized soul: “To the woman He said, « […] to your husband will be your desire, and he will rule over you. ».”(Genesis 3 :16) and “[…] the head of the woman is man(1Corinthians 11:3) and “men have been provisioned by Allah over women” (Koran, An-Nisa’). On these basis, in 2023, “around 51,100 women and girls worldwide were killed by their intimate partners” while “more than 640 million women aged 15 and older (26 %) were subjected to intimate partner violence”.  (UN Women facts and figures).

And now, when he isn’t losing his Holy Tariff war, see how the Revd D. Trump turns real estate developer to help one of the ugliest war criminals of all time (and a crook to boot) carry out the designs of the Eternal One : 10. “And it will be, when the Lord, your God, brings you to the land He swore to your fathers[…]to give you, great and good cities that you did not build, 11. and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and hewn cisterns that you did not hew, vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant, and you will eat and be satisfied.” (Deuteronomy 6).

Tariff and conquer

Born in “-384”, Aristotle is sure to have read the Pentateuch and its injunctions to “dominate” the “non-chosen” nations by – among other nuclear weapons – impoverishing them.

Mishlei (Proverbs) 22:7

A rich man will rule over the poor, and a borrower is a slave to a lender”.

And yet, to the Greek polymath as to his master Plato and a few other “non-chosen” ones, the key words of a city (a planet ?) that wishes to endure are and will forever remain “justice” and “friendship”. Certainly not “domination” through what appears to them as a chrematistic aberration, i.e. the urge to make money out of money. According to the author of the sumptuous “De Anima”, this is “an unnatural activity that dehumanizes those who indulge in it”.

The Holy Tariff war the Revd D. Trump has declared on the non-American world is part and parcel of the socio-economic approach Aristotle strongly warns us against. Again according to the inventor of  logic, for any economy – especially a global one – to function properly, it will need to stick to a perennial scale of measurement, enabling « the exchange of use values for the satisfaction of life”.

Bearing in mind that any commodification of this mere transactional medium ultimately leads to the collapse of the said economy.
